Kapuso actresses Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Vaness Del Moral have taken on the challenge of building solar lights in the LIGHT IT FORWARD campaign.
The solar lamps that the advocates built, go straight to the underprivileged communities in the Philippines who have little or no access to electricity.
Many celebrities have already joined the chain of solar challenges including Jasmine and Vaness from the GMA Network who share the same advocacy of bringing light to people living in darkness.
Join your favorite celebrities by giving 20-30 minutes of your time to build the solar lamps in the comforts of your home.
Jasmine co-stars in the Philippine adaptation of the award-winning drama series Descendants of the Sun (DOTS) as Moira Defensor – Rocco Nacino’s love interest.
The 26-year-old Millennial Ambassador for Philippine Indigenous Energy joined LIGHT IT FORWARD and posted the video of the assembly process on her Instagram on July 12, 2020.
In the 4-minute video of the actress, she gave a brief explanation of the campaign and told the viewers of the impact it will bring to the millions of people who have no light source.
“Believe it or not, there are 60 millions of Filipinos who still have no access to electricity so imagine if you can provide a light source to the communities who need it especially in this time,” Curtis said.
Jasmine also crafted her video with detailed information flashed on the screen during the assembly process to guide future solar advocates.
The DOTS star also reminded the viewers that if they encounter any problems, they can directly message (DM) the Liter of Light because they were very helpful.
After finishing the solar lamp, Jasmine encouraged everyone to participate in the solar lighting movement and wished them “Good luck!”
